YOUTH ACTION is our teen program (scholars ages 14-18) at Children of Promise, NYC that creates a platform from which our Scholars can utilize their experience to learn and shape the community around them. Our motto “Our Truth, Our Voice, Our Future” stems from Children of Promise’s therapeutic-informed approach to Youth Engagement.
EnrolLMENT
Enroll your teen in our YOUTH ACTION program.
A critical purpose of YOUTH ACTION is to prepare our scholars for life outside of school through activities that range from education, arts and culture to workshops tailored to developing skills such as professionalism, financial literacy, advocacy, organization, civic engagement as well as de-escalation and conflict resolution. Preparing our scholars for YOUTH ACTION means that they have access to activities that engage them on many levels. Through hosting community events and volunteering within the community, YOUTH ACTION scholars gain first-hand experience in organizing, activism, and advocacy.
We help to equip them to give their voices to power through storytelling, knowing their histories, engaging in debates, knowing their rights and communicating through art. We help them to recognize art as a vehicle for social justice. We also help position them as members of the future workforce through job readiness activities including mock Interviews, building interview skills, resume writing, dressing for success, and internship placements. YOUTH ACTION is about providing tools and resources to the next generation in Black and brown communities that are needed in order to thrive.
Upcoming Open Houses WILL BE POSTED SOON TO OUR CALENDAR
