  • Title: Licensed Masters Social Worker

    Reports to: Clinical Director

CPNYC has successfully developed an innovative model, the only one of its kind in New York City, which co-locates a licensed mental health clinic and children's centers in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, and the South Bronx. CPNYC provides an array of youth development programming and services tailored to each child's individual strengths and challenges and fosters a unique uplifting environment to foster hope and resilience.

    Position Overview:

    The primary responsibility of the Mental Health Clinician is to provide clinical services to 35-40 participants and their family members and complete documentation regarding the provision of these services. The Mental Health Clinician also supports the agency in supervising Clinical Mental Health Interns and in other necessary responsibilities of the Mental Health team as necessary. This position reports to the Vice President of Mental Health Services and works closely with the President and Founder.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Provide clinical services to 30-35 individual participants and their family members, through weekly individual and family psychotherapy sessions of 30-45 minutes in length

    • Conduct case management for all individuals and families who are impacted by incarceration through advocacy in schools, court and contact with ACS and foster care agencies

    • Complete all clinical documentation to sustain the regulations and requirements outlined by the Office of Mental Health, including Progress Notes, Contact Notes, Treatment Plans, Annual Comprehensive Updates, Assessments, Consent Forms, and any other related necessary documentation

    • Coordinate all necessary forms of communication and introductions to new mentors and therapeutic supportive team members

    • Facilitate monthly one-hour workshops on therapeutic themes to best support mentors’ abilities to best support and form strong attachments with the children in the program

    • Task-manage 1-2 Mental Health Interns on administrative responsibilities, including clinical paperwork

    • Work in collaboration with the Vice President of Mental Health Services and the President in completing applications for grants, awards and certifications for the mental health department and the ADA requires employers to keep confidential any medical information they learn about any applicant or employee. Medical information includes not only a diagnosis or treatments, but also the fact that an individual has requested or is receiving a reasonable accommodation as these opportunities arise

    • Work in collaboration with the President and the Vice President of Mental Health services to communicate the mission, services and structure of our organization to outside agencies, press, and universities as these inquiries arise

    • Perform other duties as assigned

    After Hours Crisis Management

    • Must be available after hours to respond to emergencies

    • Responsible for tending to crisis with the clinical team for any emergencies with clients that may take place after operating hours

    Required Knowledge, Skill and Experience

    • Bilingual in English and Spanish

    • Licensed Master’s degree in Social Work is required

    • Minimum of one (1) year experience in social work field

    • A demonstrated ability to coordinate, inspire, and motivate others

    • High level of communication skills, both written and oral

    • Experience working in an ethnically diverse community

    • Clear background check and clear fingerprinting from OMH

    • Current CPR/First Aid certification

    • Excellent computer skills

    COMPENSATION:

    Commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. The salary range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00 per hour.     Position Overview

    The After-School Program Director Is responsible for the overall supervision and implementation of the after school and summer camp programs.

    Essential Job Functions/ Responsibilities

    Program Goals

    • Increase positive academic behaviors

    • Develop positive attitudes/youth development indicators

    • Provide positive supports and opportunities for members

    • Increase parent/guardian engagement and satisfaction

    • Guide members to actively select their high school and enroll in college prep classes

    • Increase participant academic achievement

    Program Management

    • Manages all aspects of the after-school program, ensuring a quality educational and youth development experience for all participants.

    • Develops and maintains a strong relationship with school staff, including scheduling regular check-ins with the principal and community school coordinator and participating in collaborative partner meetings.

    • Coordinates programming with partner organizations and volunteers.

    • Develops and regularly revisits instructional plans for each grade level, with the objective of supporting all members in becoming academically proficient and developing the life skills. Program Director Job Description

    • Determines ongoing needs/interests of students, parents, and school staff and reviews and revises program offerings to meet emerging needs/interests.

    • Arranges trainings to support after-school instructors in designing and delivering effective lessons.

    • Prepares for and supports informal and formal program evaluation.

    • Builds strong relationships with parents by leading parent orientations and meetings (ideally in English and Spanish); connecting daily at pick-up time; making phone calls regarding student attendance, attitude, and participation; encouraging participation in BGCP and school celebrations; and organizing workshops, family nights, or other events that increase parents engagement and involvement in their child’s school and education.

    • Purchase and prepare materials for activities as needed

    Supervisory

    • Interviews, hires, trains, and manages all CPNYC staff, including evaluating and assessing their needs for ongoing professional development. Delegates work appropriately to the Assistant Director, Educational Specialist, and Counselors

    • Manages staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage. Provides last-minute coverage in classrooms as needed

    • Leads professional development, staff meetings, and some trainings

    • Documents and shares lessons learned with other site managers across the organization

    • Creates a positive work atmosphere. Fosters teamwork and a constructive exchange of ideas

    • Ensures that all staff adhere to CPNYC and school behavior, discipline, and safety policies

    • Sets high expectations for staff and students and demands compliance

    Administration

    • Manages site expenses, ensuring quality program implementation within budgetary limits

    • Compiles data and tracks students for program evaluation and reporting

    • Creates opportunities to publicize and involve CPNYC in school events (e.g. Open House, Back-to-School Nights, parent conference days, staff development) as well as events in the broader community (e.g, city council meetings, parent education opportunities).     Required Qualifications

    • Fluent in Spanish including verbal and/or written communication

    • BA/BS or five + years equivalent experience

    • A minimum of 4 years successful experience supervising staff in an after-school setting

    • Knowledge of effective teaching methods and curriculum development and ability to design programs to meet the learning needs of middle school students

    • A demonstrated ability to coordinate, inspire, and motivate others

    • High level of communication skills, both written and oral

    • Experience working in an ethnically diverse community

    • Energy, leadership skills, strong initiative, ability to motivate through positive reinforcement

    • Availability to work with some flexibility for occasional evening or weekend events

    COMPENSATION:

    Commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. This salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 per annum.     Position Overview: The Psychiatrist/Nurse Practitioner has medical and psychiatric responsibility in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Services for the therapeutic interventions employed within our wellness center. They will conduct diagnostic interviews, medication evaluations, prescribes medication, prepares reports and participates in diagnostic and treatment plans.

    Position Overview: CPNYC is seeking to hire Part-Time After School Counselors / Group Leaders for our Brooklyn and Bronx location. Must work Monday - Friday 2PM - 6PM

    Essential Job Functions

    • Provide overall supervision to our scholars during the after-school hours

    • Carry out the daily schedule with activities that include arts and crafts, homework help, reading, sports & fitness, etc.

    • Implement the CPNYC curriculum, helping school age children improve literacy competencies, values, and physical fitness in an activity-based environment

    • Assist with planning and creating innovative age-appropriate activities

    • Develop lesson plans to conduct them daily; read, tell stories, lead songs and games

    Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated, methodical and strategic grants and compliance manager to work with our organization in enhancing funding models, identifying new sources of funding, and developing sustainable and effective funding for our agency. The Grants and Compliance Manager will write coherent, organized, and compelling proposals and apply knowledge of fundraising methods and plans to reach our revenue and support goals.

    You will collaborate with team members in the organization to assist with other fundraising projects and develop relationships with key stakeholders. The Grants and Compliance Manager will optimize our grant administration process, ensure timeliness of reports and support staff with compliance to grant regulations.

    Your skills and expertise in successful grants management will aid our organization in meeting our mission by securing continuous funding, improving business opportunities through effective funding programs, and executing meaningful projects.
