Support CPNYC to Close the Gap on Learning Loss this Summer.

#EducationRevolution

During the 2022 school year one of the most devastating results of COVID that we have seen affect our scholars is learning loss.

In the past two years, CPNYC has seen that young people are significantly behind in their educational development. For many children and youth, this has caused them to feel anxiety, worry, sadness, and learning loss has caused stress in the entire household.

CPNYC has always provided educational programming, one-on-one tutoring, and we offer our Saturday Resource Center, which provides additional tutoring for young people. But CPNYC must do much more to ensure that children and youth are not further behind in their grade level. We must work to provide every opportunity for children and youth at CPNYC to obtain the knowledge and love of learning that will enable them to succeed in school.

We know that we need an Education Revolution to close the gap on learning loss and create opportunities for our young people to advance in their educational journey.

This summer, CPNYC is expanding our educational programming with a brand-new summer camp morning session. Each day from 8am-12pm, our scholars will have the opportunity to work with tutors and they will receive personalized, effective learning support from licensed teachers.

To expand our educational programming this summer, CPNYC is asking that you to donate to close that gap on learning loss in our community. Your financial support will able us to hire licensed teachers and tutors to support our scholars and provide academic enrichment.

By donating to close the gap on learning loss you will enable us to help young people like:

Tenth grader Kadie,

like many teenagers struggled with attendance and motivation during virtual learning. Her school was lenient with attendance, which led to her missing a month of school and still advancing to the next grade -- despite being academically unprepared. Since returning to the classroom, she remains on a freshman level in math and is struggling in all subjects.

Fifth grader Emily

emigrated from Honduras with her single mother and four siblings two years ago; they currently live in a shelter. Emily struggles with reading both English and Spanish, leaving her unable to comprehend her assignments. Emily is energetic and always eager to learn, but the language barrier, culture shock, and limited external support have made it difficult to excel academically.

Fourth grader Jihad

whose grandmother reached out several times while schools were closed because she couldn't provide the reliable internet and homework help, he needed to learn and thrive virtually. CPNYC’s Learning Lab solved the issue of internet access, but Jihad has continued to struggle, particularly with math, and needs support this summer. His high-energy personality requires a hands-on approach for learning and development.

Please donate to support CPNYC’s critical work to close the gap on learning loss. Your financial support will help us continue to build our Education Revolution – helping to build our scholars confidence, knowledge, and skills they need to be success on their academic journey.
