Children of Promise NYC receives laptop donation for students
Children of Promise NYC (CPNYC) received a donation of 100 laptop computers that were later distributed to students in need in both Brooklyn and the Bronx.
The laptops were given to teen scholars at CPNYC on April 29, who have shown a great need for personal computers, with the goal to help students bridge the digital divide that has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This donation is so pivotal after a grueling pandemic left our children in Brooklyn and the Bronx at a severe disadvantage, exposing a nationwide digital divide that furthered isolation, anxiety and delayed educational growth,” said CPNYC Founder and President Sharon Content. “We are so thankful for the donation of these laptops from Laptops For Kids that will go toward our organization’s fight against the learning loss experienced by our scholars here at Children of Promise, NYC.”
